AROBS Polska actively contributes to pivotal European Quantum and Optical Communication Infrastructure initiatives.
Our project includes the development of a high-rate detector for quantum key distribution (QKD), an integral component of ground stations. This detector can identify optical signals, receiving Quantum Keys at an accelerated pace by detecting many photons per second.
This project is for the European Space Agency in collaboration with Polytechnique de Milano and the University of Torun. This project achieved exceptional results, yielding faster data transfer rates and a remarkably compact detector.

Unlike conventional detectors, our QKD High-Rate detector is highly efficient and compact, negating the need for extensive cooling systems.

“Self-calibrating Electronic Controller for Satellite Quantum Entanglement Source” is a new project funded by the National Center for Research and Development. This R&D project is the first step towards ensuring the constant, high-quality generation of entangled photon pairs for satellite QKD missions of the future.
The main functions of the electronic controller will be:
  • control of piezoelectric actuators and stepper motors for optomechanical assembly
  • PPKTP crystal temperature regulation down to ± 0.5 °C accuracy
  • photon counters and coincidence detection in TTL/NIM standard
  • Measurement of Bell’s parameter and state fidelity as feedback information on the controller’s performance allows for initiating quantum entanglement source self-calibration.
